2022 Waratah Wildflowers of Australia Ram 1oz Silver Bullion Coin, First in a new bullion series from the Royal Australian Mint.

This design is the first issue in a premium bullion coin series called Wildflowers of Australia, and features the Waratah.

Australia’s iconic wildflower, the Waratah, is beautifully presented in the Royal Australian Mint’s most recent investment coin series – Wildflowers of Australia. The gold and silver coins feature an intricate design that showcases one of Australia’s most recognisable and striking flowers, endemic to southeastern Australia. Both coins will be sought after by precious metal investors and entry-level collectors, with the gold coin featuring three levels of security for added protection.

The obverse of the coin shows, in a small circle, the crowned old head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem crown and the Victoria Coronation necklace worn for her Coronation. This is her effigy known as the “Fifth Portrait” worldwide and “Sixth Portrait” in Australia, in “uncouped” version – showing the Queen’s shoulders and not terminating at the neck as the normal version. On the left, in small letters on the Queen’s shoulder, the artist’s initials JC (for Jody Clark). The Waratah is one of the most famous plants native to Australia. The most striking feature of the iconic Australian bush flower is its crimson flower head, which consists of up to 240 individual flowers and can reach a diameter of up to 15 cm. The fascinating bloom can be admired over a period of about six weeks in spring. The magnificent plant, whose distribution area is endemically restricted to a radius of about 200 km around Sydney, can reach a growth height of up to 3 m and prefers sandy soils.
